5PB – the Chambers of Robert O’Sullivan KC has contributed to the development of criminal law for over a century, with members involved in notable cases such as the Profumo affair, the Great Train Robbery, Blue Arrow, Libor and Euribor, the News International phone hacking cases, and Operation Yewtree. While no longer solely a criminal set, chambers undertakes a wide range of work, including regulatory matters, professional disciplinary proceedings, health and safety and product safety, inquests, courts-martial, and public inquiries, including Bloody Sunday, Leveson, the Guantanamo Bay litigation, and the undercover policing inquiry. Chambers has just over 50 members, including 12 silks and 10 recorders and part-time judges, and is recognised for its advocacy, client care, and efficient case management. Members regularly undertake work in multiple jurisdictions and accept instructions from solicitors, government departments, prosecuting authorities, in-house lawyers, foreign lawyers, and government agencies, as well as through direct access. Chambers supports access to the profession through its mini-pupillage scheme and annual mooting competition. Former members now serving as Circuit Judges include Her Honour Judge Dhir KC, Her Honour Judge Deacon KC, His Honour Judge Cole, and His Honour Judge Andrew Johnson, and Mr Justice Richards serves as a Puisne Judge of the Supreme Court of Bermuda.
