4 Pump Court

4 Pump Court is a barristers’ chambers, not a law firm. Its members, whether junior counsel or King’s Counsel, are all self-employed and practise independently rather than as partners or employees. Barristers from chambers may be instructed individually or as part of a team, providing expertise across a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters. As is standard in specialist sets, members may act for opposing parties in the same dispute, including in litigation and arbitration, and may also appear before other members sitting as Deputy Judges or Arbitrators. Chambers places strong importance on client confidentiality, with all barristers and staff bound by a duty to keep client affairs confidential and supported by protocols designed to manage situations involving conflicting interests. All practising barristers maintain professional indemnity insurance as a minimum requirement, with the option to obtain additional cover where appropriate. In certain circumstances, liability may be capped by written agreement between the parties.
