4 Brick Court members to join 42BR Barristers, boosting capacity across full range of family law work
42BR Barristers has confirmed that practitioners from 4 Brick Court will join its family law group in summer 2026, marking a significant development within the UK legal sector.
A total of 34 members from 4 Brick Court, along with their pupils, will transfer to 42BR. This move will expand 42BR’s existing family law group, which already comprises 60 barristers, further strengthening its coverage across the full spectrum of family law.
Both chambers will continue to operate independently during the transition period. Integration work will take place alongside ongoing legal practice, ensuring continuity of service for clients.
Following the move, barristers from 4 Brick Court will practise under the 42BR Barristers name. They will continue working with their current clerks and maintain established client relationships, according to the announcement.
The development reflects a shared objective between the two chambers to build a specialist family law team within 42BR’s common law structure. 42BR has indicated that this structure continues to expand as part of its broader growth strategy.
Once the transition completes, 42BR is expected to become one of the largest single-site sets of barristers’ chambers in the United Kingdom.
Tina Cook KC stated that the chambers welcomed the move and highlighted the reputation of the incoming practitioners. She said the addition would support their continued success within the organisation and described the development as an opportunity to reinforce 42BR’s position as a centre of legal expertise.
Isabelle Watson also commented on the transition, describing it as the beginning of a new phase for 4 Brick Court. She emphasised that maintaining continuity for clients remains a priority and noted that the team looks forward to working alongside colleagues at 42BR.
